Pokemon Go is the biggest mobile game in history, and in order to play it, you will need an iPhone or Android device. There are several requirements needed in order to play Pokemon Go, and here are the details below.

The first order of business is to check what version your phone happens to have.

What version of Android or iOS does my phone have?

If you’ve bought a new mobile device, chances are it will work with Pokemon Go. However if you are looking for a cheap Pokemon Go phone you can use these steps to check the version.

One of the cheapest iOS phones that work with Pokemon Go include the iPhone 4, although Niantic recommends the iPhone 5+. Android users can use phones like the Galaxy S5 to run Android version 4.4 and above.

What version of Android OS am I running?

There are two ways you can check your Android OS version. If you own a newer Android phone, you can use these steps below.

Step 1 : Go to the “Home” Screen and tap on the “Apps” icon

Step 2 : Tap on the Settings icon

Step 3 : Tap on System > About Phone

If you happen to own an older Pokemon Go phone, you can check the version using the following steps.

Step 1 : Push the “Home” button and tap on the “Menu” icon

Step 2 : Tap on the “Settings” icon that looks like a gear

Step 3 : Scroll down until you see the “About” information tab, which should show your Android version. The information is shown in “Software Information” and should relay your version number.

What version of iOS am I running?

There are many iPhone choices out there when you want a cheap Pokemon Go phone. In order to determine the iOS version, you can use the following steps.

Step 1 : Tap on the Settings menu

Step 2 : Open the General menu option

Step 3 : Tap on About to see the iOS version

If your Pokemon Go phone is not the right version, make sure to update by accessing the Google Play store or the Apple Store. Doing so will allow you to update your Pokemon Go Phone to meet the requirements needed to play the game.
